Dear Entrepreneurs,

As we progressively forge ahead in 2020, let us choose to break through the surrounding distractions, noise and clutter. It is imperative that we safeguard our minds and nourish it with the right substance and sustenance. This New Year is all about visualization, determination, direction and delivery. So having the right attitude and mindset is equally as important.

As stated by Sources of Insight, “Your mindset is your collection of thoughts and beliefs that shape your thought habits. And your thought habits affect how you think, what you feel, and what you do. Your mind-set impacts how you make sense of the world, and how you make sense of you.”

Even though, it’s not always easy to have a positive or winning mindset, many entrepreneurs innately possess several characteristics of such. But having a winning mindset sounds a bit outdated and it’s time we grow from that wouldn’t you say?

So in this blog, I’d like to introduce you to a Champion Mindset.’

To cultivate the mindset of a CHAMPION you must:

Make a choice - Choose to be a Champion, when life knocks you down or you fail, choose to get back up, be strong-willed, relentless and resilient on your path to success.

Chart your direction - Utilise goal creation and mapping for optimal preparation, and integrate a touch of imagination in there as well.

Execute your approach - Implement adaptive and transformational thinking, undertake plans with set targets and deadlines, then regulate your energy and tension. (Keep in mind: The key is to raise your energy while reducing your tension.)

Repeat these tactics and strategies – Oftentimes, once implementation is complete, monitoring and evaluation is carried out to track and improve decisions together with existing business models. Making alterations, additions, deletions and substitutions constitute the Repeat Cycle.

Dynamic Tips for a Mindset Shift:

Discipline and consistency are important as you set aside time in your daily routine for ‘Personal Development, Growth & Enrichment’.

Create the right mindset and self-image - Build positive mental habits: practice gratitude, use positive affirmations, adopt optimistic thoughts, maintain your spiritual well-being, and incorporate regular rest, as well as, recovery periods.

Don’t limit your ability or talent - Challenge your aptitude and capability. Push yourself beyond the ‘normal limits’. Normal is overrated anyway.

Re-engineer your goal - Stay committed and focused. Note what doesn’t work and what does. Troubleshoot issues, re-examine specific problem areas and rework existing strategies until you figure out an appropriate and feasible solution.

Challenge your thought process - Engage in analysis, reflection and critical thinking. The mind of an Entrepreneur is wired to use outside the box methods and experiment with the status quo. This will strategically help you to ‘work smart’ instead and not ‘work hard’.

Take control of your future - Make a choice and chart your direction. The toughest roads often lead to rewarding and unimaginable destinations.

Train your mind - To get over losses quickly and cope with failures. Do not be dejected by hiccups, speed bumps or hurdles but continue to accelerate in your entrepreneurial journey.

Wisely select your circle - Networking is always essential for entrepreneurs, so surround yourself with positive, successful, determined and like-minded individuals, those who share similar dreams, visions and accomplishments.

Champions are designed to be the best version of themselves, so remember these quick tidbits:

“Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.” – Muhammad Ali, Professional Boxer

Your mindset matters. Change your thinking and your outlook on life will change, along with your situation and circumstances. No matter what happens, your present situation is never your final destination.

I CHALLENGE YOU for the next 11 months of 2020 to harness and cultivate your CHAMPION MINDSET. Because my dear Entrepreneurs, YOU ARE WORTH IT.
