Quit your day job you say???
I say heck no! Not yet anyway.

Lots of people battle with themselves about whether they should walk away from their day job when they start thinking about opening their own business. They feel that they need time to develop their concepts and to focus on building their dreams. But running a business is no easy task. At the very least, it is a very expensive affair.

But here’s what - you have responsibilities to manage and bills to pay. And your dream needs capital, right? So why not use what you make in your day job to fund your business start-up?
There’s so much that needs to be considered before you close the door to stability and security. Somehow it seems that the option is unaffordable and unrealistic. If we’re really honest with ourselves, we’ll see we just can’t do that yet...realistically.

Let’s face it! You want a success story that begins with how you took the great plunge away from the day job and built your dream. Now this may work well for some, but today’s reality wouldn’t allow most of us to do this.

WE ARE IN FINANCIAL CRISIS!

You may not want to hear this. But it needs saying nonetheless.
The world is experiencing a financial crisis! Our country, Trinidad and Tobago is experiencing a financial crisis and most jobs are now short-lived. If you are still employed, even though uncomfortably, it’s still a little blessing.

Learn to GROW RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE!

Growth is a process, a journey, so won’t remain where you are eternally. With the right attitude and persistence, and investments, you’ll be able to leap out into the entrepreneurial life full-time. Why not then, allow your day job to complement your dream? Take on assignments that will give you valuable skills you can use in your own business. But be careful not to let your day job suffer; you don’t want to get fired.

Learn to make sacrifices that would allow you to grow your side business up to profitability before you quit your job.
Lots of great businesses started off as side jobs, with Entrepreneurs working evenings or whenever they got the free time just so their dreams could become their realities.
Become possessive about your dreams so you have no choice but to make it work, no matter the sacrifice you have to make.

You know what most Entrepreneurs are? Tired! Go ahead and ask a few. Yep, we could all do with a luxurious vacation. But you know what? Our dreams turning into realities are so worth it! (Remember to take care of yourself too)

Work on your dreams and intentions daily. If it’s something your heart really desires, you won’t even know that you’re working on it. You’ll have so much fun, you won’t think it’s even ‘work’.
