Not everyone is going to like, or want, or even purchase what you’re offering, and that’s quite okay.

Don’t take it personally.

There are big companies that haven’t been able to capture the minds and hearts of everyone. Just think...not everyone you know is an iPhone fan, and likewise, not everyone single person is a Samsung fan.

People buy what they want, need, or what makes them feel special, or an important part of something. If your product or service doesn’t do something personally for them - it just doesn’t touch them in some way - well then, no worries. That’s just NOT your target. That’s not your audience. Stop trying to convince them. Stop wasting that time. Stop putting effort where there’s never going to be any real short or long term reward.

What you as a business owner, seller and marketer need to do, is to concentrate your efforts instead, on finding those people out there, who DO want to buy your product or service, who WANT what you have to offer, who see VALUE in your product or service, and sell it to them.

Narrow in on finding YOUR niche and keep them in mind when creating your marketing material. Think clearly about the WHO, and then create and write your marketing material designed to address them specifically.

When you alter your message and most oftentimes your price, in order to attract and try and sell to everyone, then the people who really should be your real customers, will not be able to identify with what you’re offering or even with your business.

The Timely Entrepreneur Resource and Research Centre identifies with new startups and entrepreneurs ... those in the idea stage, and those who have already put forward their product or service who need help with identifying the next steps. We identify with new businesses who are timidly venturing out into the Entrepreneurial Universe, those who would appreciate having all the right steps, the right information and guides, so as to minimise possible risks and unnecessary bureaucracy.

Who would you say your business identifies with? Are you clear on your WHO?
